Southern Natural Resources, Inc. was founded in 1995 by current owner and President, Dearl Brooks.

Dearl Brooks is a 1976 graduate of Mississippi State University, College of Forest Resources. He is a Registered Forester, a Certified Prescribed Burning Manager, a member of the Mississippi Forestry Association, the Lauderdale County Forestry Association, and the Society of American Foresters.

Dearl obtained extensive experience in both Forest Management and Timber Procurement prior to founding Southern Natural Resources, Inc. in 1995.

Dearl is currently serving a 2 year term as one of the original 15 Steering Committee Members of the newly formed MS Prescribed Fire Council.
